Dr. Athanasios Sioulas is a gastroenterologist working at the Gastroenterology Department of Hygeia Hospital as well as his private medical office.
He obtained his medical degree from the Medical School of Athens University in 2002. He completed his training in Gastroenterology at the Hepatogastroenterology Unit of Attikon University Hospital in Athens. He subsequently was offered a scholarship from the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology and was trained in advanced endoscopic techniques for biliary and pancreatic diseases at the Department of Interdisciplinary Endoscopy of the University Hospital of Hamburg in Germany, one of the most famous endoscopic centers in Europe.
Besides his clinical activity, Dr. Athanasios Sioulas holds a PhD diploma and has published numerous scientific papers in highly-esteemed international medical journals (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=sioulas+a). He is also an active member of the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology (HSG), the European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (EBGH) and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE).
Nowadays, Dr. Athanasios Sioulas practices general gastroenterology and hepatology, with an emphasis on endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic applications in the gastrointestinal tract. He is in direct collaboration with an excellent medical team including surgeons, medical oncologists, radiologists and radiotherapists providing evidence-based high-quality service to his patients.
